Aqua Logic® Delta Star® Heat Pumps

Delta Star® heat pumps automatically handle both heating and cooling duties in fresh and saltwater applications. Titanium heat exchangers in Delta Star® heat pumps mean you get the best in corrosion resistance. A properly sized and installed heat pump will provide stable, controlled water temperature. Pumps include a dual stage digital temperature controller in a NEMA 4X-rated waterproof enclosure and will maintain water temperatures from 40–85°F (5–29°C). Controller will keep the temperature within 1 degree of the set point in °F or °C. In heating mode these heat pumps work with the liquid refrigerant (Freon®) in reverse. Pumps should be mounted indoors where air temperatures stay above 55°F.

Note: When in heating mode, place the unit in a drip pan that has a drain connection (condensation can form a puddle around the unit).

If an Aqua Logic® chiller or heat pump's condensing unit is going to be located outdoors and operating in cooling mode when ambient air temperatures fall below 50°F, a low ambient control must be ordered with the unit (call for pricing). This will allow the chiller to function properly down to 0°F. Additional precautions should be taken to prevent the exposed water lines and heat exchanger from freezing if water flow should stop while the air temperature is below freezing.
