It features a tapered column design (3 US patents granted, 2 pending) and a media bypass line that insures years of trouble-free service.
The new column design greatly reduces the chance of an accidental media "wash out." As the chamber widens at the top, the greater cross-section of the cylinder slows the water's velocity and contains the media. The filter can also be plumbed with a media bypass line that allows the operator to feed water into the filter media, internally and externally, to reduce the chance of accidentally clogging the center supply tube.
The FB700 is molded out of .2" thick polyethylene for extreme impact resistance. It measures 62" tall and 16" x 16" at the top of the filter box. It also comes with an 8" twist-off lid. The Delta can be installed in the ground with only the upper 8" showing or "free standing" (attached to a wall with provided brackets).
The filter holds 75 lbs of media—over 5,000 sq.ft. of biological surface area. Maximum flowrate is 25 gpm, but the filter can be operated at a lower flow to promote nitrate removal.
