Rotifer EggsThese lab-cultured resting eggs are ideal for setting up cultures of the saltwater rotifer Brachionus plicatilis or the freshwater rotifer Brachionus calyciflorus. Simple to culture, just remove the cysts from the vial and place in water with low light. Hatching and feeding commences in 24 to 36 hours and reproduction about 18 hours after hatching. When properly stored, eggs will remain viable for up to 2 years. Small size contains 2,000 to 3,000 cysts (eggs) and large has 15,000 to 20,000. All sizes weigh 6 oz. |
